Long Coated Chihuahuas I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to judge Longcoats at their open show. It was an honour to be invited. This show is one of my favourites - it’s always friendly & so well run. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for giving me a great entry & my stewards Nicki Wilkes & Denise Hurst for doing a fantastic job on the day. VD (6,3) 1st Jones’s Kushira Fireflash - 9yr old red & white boy in fantastic condition. Good Reach of neck with a level topline. Large dark eyes with a lovely expression. He moved around the ring with ease never taking his eyes off his handler. 2nd Jones’s Kushira Flames of Desire - Similar type to first. I later learned these are litter brothers. Full of energy he thoroughly enjoyed his time in the ring. His tail never stopped wagging. MPD (1,0) 1st Todd-Mccoid’s A Gift For Ruby – 7 month cream boy with a super coat, well bodied for one so young. He has a lovely apple domed head, lovely expression with dark pigmentation and excellent mouth. Could be a little bit longer in neck. He makes his young handler work hard. BPD. PD (1,0) 1st Hargreaves Tampico All You Need is Love - 10 month old he has a apple domed head, large expressive eyes and a good mouth. Unfortunately, today he lacked confidence, & was reluctant to move around the ring & use his tail which spoiled the overall outline. Hopefully this will come with time. JD (4,0) 1st Todd-Mccoid’s QQ’S Amazing Prince of Pearls - 12-month-old tri with the most gorgeous expression. Pleasing head with nicely rounded skull, good breadth between ears, large dark eyes. Lovely reach of neck leading to a level topline held at all times. 2nd Holland-Smith’s Mysterious Land Monami Diamonchi (IMP LAV) – A smart young dog - Black & White with ultra-short muzzle slightly overdone in head. I would prefer a little less head & more muzzle. Well set ears of good size. He had level topline throughout & lovely tail carriage. ND (1,0) 1st Hargreaves Tampico Love is All You Need – Nervous & Reluctant to let me go over him on the table in the previous class we tried him on the table again & with a lot of gentle persuasion from his owner he let me go over him. Good reach of neck, level topline. Slightly longer in back then I prefer. Large dark eyes with lovely expression. Once of the floor this dog comes into his own. Moving around the ring swiftly & confidently with strong hind quarters. Hopefully the table work will come. GD (5, 2) 1st Entwistle’s Dorenty’s Willy Ekaslike - Caught my eyes as soon as he entered the ring. Good size with apple domed head large expressive eyes. Good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, level topline & good tailset. Moves around the ring with drive. Pushed hard for BD just felt his litter brother had more ring presence today. RBD 2nd Humphreys Amarantos Anton - Not as mature as 1st longer in leg & needs to body up more. He has a lovely head large dark eyes & appealing expression. Good reach of neck & level topline. Was reluctant to use his ears today. PGD (3,1) 1st Wills Dorenty Chewi Veeton - Another nice youngster who caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. Litter brother to 1st in previous class & very similar attributes. Lovely shape & size with superb head qualities, large flaring ears, level topline & deep brisket, good ribs and correct sickle tail held throughout. Small & dainty feet & nicely cushioned pads. Presented in pristine condition. One I could take home. Pleased to award him BOB. 2nd Olive’s Oozora Master of Dreams – Larger then 1st mature red in full coat with strong apple domed head with definite stop. Well placed ears, held a level topline throughout. Moved with drive coming & going. LD (2,1) 1st Wills Dorenty Dazzling Duncan – A dog I have previously given Best Puppy to. He has matured lovely. Compact, lovely alert expression, well laid shoulders, strong well developed head with good breadth between ears, large dark eyes moderately short muzzle with a good reach of neck. Level topline. OD (3,1) 1st Olive’s Oozora Bonanza Boy – A dog I have previously given Best of Breed to - Mature Red & White boy – a real showman, good skull, lovely expressive eyes, well ribbed body, nice arched neck, level back, in full coat, never stopped showing. 2nd Hargreaves Thai CH Winchis Arnold Noah – Good reach of neck leading to a level topline with well laid shoulders. Moved around the ring with drive. Unfortunately, he started losing interest towards the end dropping his tail. VB (5,0) 1st Jones’s CH Kushira Coconut Ice JW 9yr old Fawn & white in super condition for age. She glided around the ring like a youngster with a brisk forceful action moving accurately in all directions. Good reach of neck leading to a level topline & correctly set tail. BVIB & delighted to see her go BVIS. 2nd Waterworths’s Yorone Kiss’N’Tell at Barwater – Larger than first she had a good reach of neck, level topline, well set ears & a kind expression. At 11 years old she had all her teeth & certainly gave the younger dogs in the class a run for their money. MPB (1,1) Absent PB (2,0) 1st Lynch’s Garnox Tickety Boo- 10-month cream bitch who charmed me immediately with her cheeky expression. She is full of confidence with a lovely head, level topline & correct tail set. Moved round the ring with such drive and confidence for one so young. Should have a bright future. BPIB 2nd Horsley’s Husabye Once Upon a Dream – 11-month white bitch in good coat she had a good mouth, large flaring ears, lovely length of neck, well laid shoulders level topiline and good movement. Felt she lost interest & was dropping her tail towards the end of this class but found her spark again for the next class. JB (6,1) 1st Heap & Palmer’s Samangie Starsun Maciendas – This ultra-feminine bitch is small & compact. with a saucy expression. She has a level topline, large flaring well set ears which she uses to her advantage. She is full of confidence with a look at me attitude. 2nd Horsley’s Husabye Once Upon a Dream – 2nd in previous class. NB (1,0) 1st Humphreys Amarantos Nicole – Cream & white bitch who just oozes personality. Lovely apple domed head with large appealing eyes. She moves around the ring with confidence holding a level topline throughout. GB (6,2) 1st Entwistle’s Dorenty’s Fancy That – A pretty bitch, dainty compact with the loveliest of heads & definite stop. Balanced & soundly constructed with well laid shoulders & well sprung rib. She covered the ring well with a brisk forceful action. RBB 2nd Lynch’s Tidos New Flame at Garnox small & compact black tri with lovely apple domed head, good mouth & the most gorgeous expression. She has a good tail set & good movement coming & going. PGB (5,1) 1st Todd-Mccoid’s Bronteana Maleficent Queen - Nice size, lovely alert expression large dark eyes, good pigmentation. She had brisk forceful action with good drive in hindquarters. She was at one with her handler. Would have preferred stronger head but couldn’t deny the overall qualities of this bitch. 2nd Heap & Palmer’s Chirouxe Cracklin Rosie – Eye catching Red & White bitch with superb head qualities, large dark eyes, large flaring ears, good reach of neck & level topline held throughout. It was a close call between both just preferred the movement of 1st. LB (7,1) 1st Garnox Picture This JW – A stunning bitch that caught my eye as soon as she walked into the ring. Very pretty with the loveliest of heads and expressions. large flaring ears, dark round eyes and jet black pigment. Well laid shoulders, level topline, balanced and soundly constructed she moved out with such drive and was at one with her handler.BB 2nd Waterworths Yorone Treading the Boards for Barwater - Lovely apple domed head with large dark eyes. Good reach of neck onto well laid shoulders, level topline. She didn’t seem to have the spark I have previously seen. OB (4,0) 1st Todd-Mccoid’s Tinasjoy Georgia With Rubyanlo – A girl I have admired from the ringside & today she didn’t disappoint. – Nice size, small & compact, with a lovely alert expression. She has a lovely apple domed head with moderately short muzzle, large dark eyes. She pushed hard to win the class unfortunately she didn’t pull out all the stops for the challenge. 2nd Humphreys Sleepyhollow Sonia Amarantos– A pretty bitch longer in body then first. She is soundly constructed with well laid shoulders & well sprung rib. She covered the ring well with a brisk forceful action. Close call between these two & on another day could easily change places but today she was dropping her tail on the stand. Miss D Gilling (TALOCAN)
